Toy Rotation Through the Holidays
Holly on making space for new gifts without drowning in last year’s toys — a December plan that is kind to kids and floors.

It's Holly here.
December in a house with children is a beautiful flood. New books, new Lego, new stuffed animals with tags still on. If we do not make a plan, the playroom becomes a landfill with wrapping paper.
Edit before the wrapping starts
A week before gifts arrive, sit with your kids and choose toys to donate or rotate out. They are surprisingly generous when it is their idea. Photograph sentimental pieces if you need to let the object go.
One in, one out — loosely
It does not have to be a law. It can be a conversation. “This new art set can live on the art tray. Which markers are dried out?”
A gift closet, not a gift explosion
Keep incoming presents in one closet until you have a home for them. Open, enjoy, then place. Dumping twelve boxes onto the rug on the 25th is how systems die.
We can set a holiday toy plan with you in one session. Future January-you will write a thank-you note.
